I love "Love, Rosie" but it was depressing

I have watched another book-based movie yesterday and it was a little depressing. The actors were good and the movie itself but I find the story line depressing. I haven't read the book or the novel it was based from but basing from what I have watched in the movie, I think that book was great though I personally won't probably read it. I'm just really not that into romantic novels because I am more of a fan of Mystery/Thrillers and Adventure novels or books.

As to why I have decided to watch movie,  it was because of Lily Collins. I have loved her since I first saw her in the "City of Bones" movie. It was also a plus that Sam Claflin was also in the movie. I didn't even realize at first that it was him.

Anyway . . .

Love, Rosie was depressing in the sense that the two protagonists were best friends for a really long time and it took so many years before they finally got together. I know that that thing happens in real life but that's probably why I won't be reading the novel anytime soon. It was obvious from the beginning of the movie that they weren't just really friends and that they obviously feel something more than that.

I don't know but it was kind of a haywire to me. The girl got pregnant by another guy and had been a single mom until the guy Greg finally showed up again and married her. And then there was Alex who had been with Bethany and then studied to Harvard and then met another girl, broke up, another girl again. Honestly, it was an emotional torture for me and I think I have said "ouch" many times while watching the movie. I feel like if I actually read the book, I'd be undergoing a roller coaster ride of emotions and I don't think my heart can take that.
