Sea of Monsters: Book vs. Movie

This is a list of some of the differences between the film and the book "Percy Jackson & The Olympians: Sea of Monsters"

Grover set off alone for a quest to find Pan. That was when he got trap in an island with Polyphemus and pretended to be a lady Cyclops.
Grover didn’t go for a quest alone but had snuck out the camp with Percy, Annabeth and Tyson in search of the Golden Fleece.
Tyson was Percy’s homeless classmate at Meriwether College Prep.
Percy didn’t go to Meriwether College Prep and only met Tyson at camp.
Percy didn’t realize at first that Tyson was a Cyclops because of the mist.
Percy knew right away that Tyson was a Cyclops the first he saw him. The mist comes in a spray bottle.
Percy ‘played’ dodge ball with the Laistrygonians during PE at Meriwether.
He didn’t go to another school after Yancy Academy. He stayed at camp.
Percy, Annabeth and Tyson took the taxi of the gray sisters from New York to camp.
Percy, Annabeth, Tyson and Grover rode on the ‘taxi’ when they snuck out of camp.
The three gray ladies had an eye and a tooth.
They had an eye.
There were two bulls attacking the camp when Percy came back with Annabeth and Tyson.
There was only one bull that attacked the camp.
Tyson got to camp because Annabeth told Percy that they should brought him along with them. Annabeth gave him permission to enter the camp.
Tyson went to camp by himself and he already knew by then that he was a son of Poseidon.
Chiron got fired after the Thalia tree was poisoned and was replaced by Tantalus.
Chiron didn’t get fired.
Silena Beauregard taught Percy riding lessons. She was only revealed as a spy for Luke and Kronos when she was already dying in The Last Olympian.
No riding lessons were shown. She appeared on Luke’s yacht and was revealed that she was one of the demigods who turned to Luke’s side.
Percy and Grover had an empathy link.
There was no mention of Percy and Grover having an empathy link.
Percy and Tyson teamed up during the chariot race.
No chariot’s race was shown.
The camp was attacked by Stymphalian birds during the chariot race.
There were no Stymphalian birds that attacked the camp.
Annabeth explained to Percy how the Golden Fleece would help them cure the tree.
Annabeth discussed this matter with Dionysus with Grover.
Tantalus was the one who approved the quest and announced that the champion to lead it was Clarisse.
It was Dionysus who announced about the quest.
Tyson had lived in the streets of New York.
Tyson had lived in the woods.
Percy snuck out after curfew and headed for the beach. Hermes met with him and gave him the thermos and a bottle of chewable vitamins as gifts.
Percy only met Hermes with Annabeth and Tyson when they were in Washington D.C.
Hermes gave Percy three duffel bags for their trip and told Percy to make up his mind about going out for the quest with his friends.
Percy decided to sneak out the camp himself with Grover and Annabeth. Tyson came along with them.
Percy asked for help from his dad to get on the ship and then three hippocampi came.
Tyson asked Poseidon for help and a hippocampus came and gave them a ride.
The Princess Andromeda, filled with monsters, also had regular mortals that were in a trance aboard it.
Luke’s yacht only had some monsters and demigods who turned against the gods.
Percy came up with the idea of using the magical thermos to get the lifeboat away from the Princess Andromeda.
Annabeth was the one who opened the thermos.
They encountered a Hydra which had seven heads that shot acid.
They encountered a Hydra during the first film. The Hydra didn’t shot acid but fire from its center head.
The Golden was on an oak tree in the center of Polyphemus’s island.
The Golden Fleece hung on Polyphemus’s shoulder.
Clarisse’s ship exploded and Percy thought Tyson died.
The ship didn’t exploded and Percy thought Tyson died when he took an arrow for him and fell.
Percy was turned to a guinea pig by Circe.
He never met Circe.
Clarisse got to Polyphemus island before Percy and Annabeth.
Clarisse, Tyson, Annabeth ad Percy arrived at the island together.
Clarisse told Polyphemus that Grover was a satyr. Polyphemus ripped Grover’s wedding dress and veil.
Grover revealed himself as a satyr.
There was a flock of carnivorous sheep on the island.
They didn’t encountered any sheep.
Luke never got the Fleece. The Fleece was already on the way to camp with Clarisse when he appeared to take Percy and his friends back to his ship.
Luke got the Fleece at Polyphemus island after Percy took it from the Cyclops. He used it to rise Kronos.
